Sab Fab Fav: Eyes

Hey there my favorite little beauties,

I've been out of the beauty community for too long now, and it's time for me to come back. After looking at Emilynoel83 videos yesterday, I got inspired to do a mini series of favorites of 2012. She called her mini-series the Emily Awards.... I'm going to call mine Sab Fab Fav.

To start the series, I'm going to talk about eyes. I divided my "awards" as Emily calls hers into the same or quite similar categories as her which are drug store and high end.

Eye Primer
Drugstore:
e.l.f. Eyelid primer
It costs one dollar from the website, or from Target if you live in the U.S. It makes eye shadow last longer on without creasing . It doesn't improve the color payoff that much, but it's better than in their own.

High End:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
It makes my eye shadow last all day without creasing plus you get amazing color payoff.

Cream Shadow
Drug store:
Maybelline Color Tattoo! There are simply the best out there. Everybody knows that it's not good to keep your makeup for too long on your face for obvious reasons, but these bad boys can last for 24 hours and even more. I enjoy the fact that there is good variety of texture within the collection; there is some matte, shimmery, and glittery colors. The color selection is awesome!

Small Eye Shadow palette.
Drug Store:
And the winner is.... Wet'n'Wild!!! I mean OMG these are the bomb! They are super duper pigmented and smooth. The quality of these are simply superb. They are high end quality. I would totally pay more for them. Here is the 8-pan palette, but they also have the 3 pan palettes.

Eye Shadow palette
High end: Urban Decay Naked and Naked 2
I know that this seems pretty obvious and a safe choice, but what can I say; I love them. They are versatile. You can do a day time look as well as a dark sultry smokey look. The quality of these shadow are simply great. All of them are super pigmented, smooth, and creamy with a flawless application. Most of the shade don't have huge fallout.

Liquid Eyeliner
Drugstore L'Oréal lineur intense. This creates the perfect darkest black cat eye. It can create a very thin to thick  line effortlessly.

One of my other favorite is this eyeliner pen by Revlon  It's called Revlon Color Stay Liquid Eye Pen. It's not the darkest black that is out there, but it's so easy to work with. When you are on the go, you need something quick and effective. It last a long time.

Gel Eyeliner
Drug Store:
Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama gel eyeliner in blackest black.
I really enjoy this eyeliner. This is nowhere new, but I don't hear that much about it. It simply great. I had mine for a very long time now, and I should probably throw it away. I feel bad about throwing it away because it's like new. It hasn't tried out at all. It doesn't budge once it dries.

Pencil Eyeliner:
High End:
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencil
Talk about a liner that doesn't go anywhere. I usually don't really like eyeliner in that form because it's really hard to find one that's long lasting. You can easily smudge them, but once they set they are really hard to rub off. They do last a long time on the waterline. The best thing about them is the variety of colors they come in; 24 in the regular collection without talking about the limited edition ones.

Mascara
Drug Store:
L'Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes
I've tried many mascara from l'Oréal, and it's by far my favorite brand. I really enjoy this one because it gives me a lot of volume with length. I haven't tried all of the Voluminous collection tho. I really enjoy the Volum Express by Maybelline, but I prefer the L'Oréal Voluminous.

That's about it for what's concerning the eyes. The next post will be about face and lips.
Hope you enjoyed this post :)

Little Break

Hi beauties,

I hope that you had a wonderful holiday season. I know that I did. I just wanted to let you know that I won't be posting anything soon because I've been really really really busy  I can't even remember the last time that I had off for the past two weeks. I'm really trying to get through my last week of this semester , and then I'll try to get some rest. I hope you wonderful guys will understand.

Coming back with a rested head and mind will be even better. I'd rather post something that I really want to post than posting something only to say that I posted something this week. This break will also give me time to find some new ideas to write about on the blog. I started sewing so maybe I'll start to add some post here and there about. Let me know if you have request or ideas.

Hope you understand,
Sabrina xoxo

The Vice Palette; A review

Hey beauties,

I'm starting this review for the third time I think. The new update for the Iphone or Ipod for blogger seems to delete what you are doing after a while...

As many of you might already know, I bought The Vice palette about two weeks ago, and I've been using ever since to do a review as quickly as possible for you guys.

To start of this review, here is what Urban Decay had to say about their palette:
Twenty never-before-seen shades in one insanely gorgeous palette! Shadow junkies, prepare to get addicted. If eyeshadow is your vice, the Vice Palette is your fix. Loaded with 20 never-before-seen shades you won’t find anywhere else, this insanely gorgeous palette is ALL about eyeshadow. With a mix of mattes, satins, shimmers, neutrals and brights, the range of shades is unreal—from breathtaking gold to shimmery green to jet-black satin. Plus, each Eyeshadow features our brand new Pigment Infusion System™, the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives every shade its velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power and blendability. All that eye candy comes in a sleek purple soft-touch case topped with a jeweled UD icon. With the push of a button, the slow-opening lid dramatically reveals all 20 shades, plus a large mirror and a double-ended Good Karma Shadow and Crease Brush. Shadow junkies, prepare to get addicted

First of all, I'm very satisfied by the choice of colors that the Urban Decay team chose for this palette. There is a great selection of neutral colors as well as vibrant colors. Texture wise, I wish that they would have put one more matte shade. The palette contains three matte shades, but they are all light shades. A darker matte shade would have been nice because you have noting buy shimmery or satin shade for the crease. I really appreciate that the palette has a light brown matte shade; this is perfect for blending colors in the crease perfectly . I can't say who much I love the fact that all shade are new and exclusive! It's so annoying when you buy a palette with colors that you already own, and/or you can buy in other palettes. That's is what I really like about palettes is that you have news and exclusive shades.

Desperation: A satin dark cold toned brown.
Muse: A shimmery dark warm tone brown.
Jagged: A shimmery dark brown with golden glow.
Blitz: A shimmery mid-tone gold. A in-between of Half Baked and Baked.
Penny Lane: A shimmery copper with gold tone. Kinda a mix of Half Baked and Chopper.
Junkie: Dark green with gold undertones.
Chaos: A matte bright blue.
Occupy: A metalic gunmetal color with a multidimensional sparkle.
Unhinged: A shimmery turquoise.
Black Market: A satin black.
Provocateur: A glittery mauve color.
Rapture: A shimmery grayish purple color.
Vice: a satin eggplant color.
Noise: A satin bright fushia color.
Armor: A shimmery gray with gray sparkle.
Nevermind: A shimmery light brown.
Echo Beach: A shimmery lighter brown.
Anonymous: A matte nude color.
Freebird: A sheer, shimmery light pink.
Laced: A matte pinky taupe.

For the new formulation, I can't really say that I've seen such a huge difference between this one or the old one especially for the shimmery one. Provocateur is the worst one. I don't know if you ever tried the color Midnight Cowbow or Midnight Rodeo(with the old formulation), but they are so bad. You end up with more shimmer on your cheeks than on your eyelids. The worst thing of them was that the big chucks of glitters would still fall on your cheeks after a couple of hours. The only improvement that I've notice so far is that the big chucks of glitter falls quickly than the old formula. Did you notice a big difference between the new formula and the old one? Leave a comment below because I would really like to know.

I' am really disappointed with the packaging. It's so simple compared to the limited edition palette that Urban Decay comes out with. It's a simple dark matte purple with a jewel UD on top. The only thing that I really like about this palette compared to the other palettes from Urban Decay is that it's really small, compact, and travel friendly. Because I have long nails, I have a hard time to open the palette. I need to press on the thin button pretty deep in order to open it up...

Overall, I don't think that this palette is a must. I'm on the fence whether I like it or not. If you are not sure about it, I say skip it because there is so much more palettes that are worth so much more than this one during the holiday season. But at the same time, I'm not saying that you shouldn't buy it either.

To help you choose if you should buy it or not here is some points that stands out:
Positive:
-Travel friendly
-Small and sturdy packaging
-A great color selection, nice mix of neutral and colorful colors
-Most of them are nicely pigmented
-Most of them have a great texture

Negative:
-Packaging is bland
-Some colors like Provocateur and Freebird lacks of pigments and the texture is chalky
-Lacks of matte shade, especially in the dark shades

It's up to you to decided whether you want it or not.
Leave a comment below if you like it or not.

Sabrina xoxo

Happy Brithday to... ME:OOTD

Hey beauties,

So today it's my birthday, and we are going eating at the restaurant. Here is the outfit that I put together for this evening. I'm going to see the new Twilight afterward... can't wait to see if it lives up to my expectation... Little advice, don't read the books before seeing the movies; you are so disappointed with the result because they have to cut so much of the book to make it a good movie length.

Blazer- H&M
Pants and cami- Dynamite
Shoes- Payles

Hope the bad quality picture were okay... My camera does that when the battery is low. Sorry

With love, Sabrina

Sephora Haul

Hey beauties,

This weekend was the friends and family sale at Sephora and like most of you did if you were a VIB shopped at Sephora. I was going to shop there anyways because I'm not going were there is a Sephora really often, but it was a plus.

Anyways, I bought a couple of thing, and I am really excited about them!

First of all, I went straight to the Urban Decay section and took one of The Vice palette. I was stoked that they still had some because there was a waiting list to have it! The Urban Decay palette contains…. 20 exclusive shades in their new formula. Isn't it awesome. The palette is sleek and opens by itself when you press the little button. They really thought this palette through. I can’t wait to use the colors Chaos and Noise even though I have no idea how to make them wearable. I will probably end up wearing them under my lower lash line. This palette also contains a dual sided brush. I think it’s quite expensive compared to the one from Tarte. It was only 2$ cheaper and you have so much more stuff with the Tarte set.

Then I went at the Too Faced section to grab the palette in the metal case, but they were out of stock. I had to put my name on a waiting list :(

I went to the Tarte counter to see the Carried Away With Tarte set. I was blown away with the colors and the value of this set. It totally worth the 70$ that I paid. It contains 24 full size Amazonian clay eyeshadows, 8 maracuja lip glosses, 1 Amazonian clay 12-hours blush in adventurous, 1 blushing beauty domed blush brush, 1 light, camera, lashes! 4-in-1 mascara and 1 Amazonian clay finishing powder. That is a lot.

In the weeks to come, I will do a review of both of them. I will probably start with the Urban Decay since there is less product and you will have one faster.
This is what I bought at Sephora.

What palette did you ask for Christmas? Leave a comment below, that might give me ideas because I have nooo idea what to ask for Christmas.

With love,
Sabrina

Halloween nails

Hey beauties,

I know that Halloween was yesterday, but I still wanted to share the nails that I did for this.
I wanted to use my limited edition nail polish from China Glaze that was from a old collection from 2 years ago I believe; it's called ick-a-bod-y. I also wanted to do some candy corn on my nail so this is what I came up with.

Products used:
- China Glace ick-a-bod-y
Sally Hansen Hard as Nail Xtreme Wear in Crushed, Mellow Yellow, and White On.
LA Colors Art Deco in Silver and Silver Glitter.
Seche Vite Top Coat.

What did you wear on your nails for Halloween?

Self Confidence : Smile

Hey beauties,

This blog talks about make-up, fashion, and all that kind of things. But there is one thing that we beauty bloggers often forget. Self confidence and inner beauty. These are the most important thing in life. You can have the most beautiful make-up and dress up like a princess, but still be unnoticeable. Why? Because your personality doesn't shine through all of that; your self confidence is not high enough that when you walk into a room all eyes are on you.

I really wanted to do a series inspiring other girls who aren't confident enough to step out of the box, to do new things, or simply to shine. I decided to separate this series into thing that I think are important for self confidence.

The first topic that I want to talk to you about is the smile. I know that it might seems really silly, but believe me it's not. Did you ever see this quote?

Well it's true, I think that a smile is the best makeup any girl can wear. Don't be afraid to smile.

Sometimes it's hard to love your smile, but think about it that way... It is a part of you; a part that makes you unique, different. You were born original  don't die a copy. That is another quote that I really like. Your teeth might not be straight, but you weren't born with braces. Nobody is born with perfect, straight teeth, it's just an image that the society put in our head. Look at all the people who don't know about braces; they smile even without teeth. It doesn't matter to them. They think they are beautiful with or without them.

My first tip you be so smile in the mirror and tell yourself that you have a beautiful smile, and to accept that it's not perfect. You have to remind yourself that perfection as the world sees it doesn't exist. That you are perfect in YOUR way.

You can try to whiten your teeth if you want to with some drugstore products like the Crest 3D whitestips. That can help too if you feel that the yellowness of your teeth bothers you. But seriously you don't have to do this, buy a lipstick that has blue undertones and your teeth will look whiter. The point is you don't need to spend a lot of money, little tip like that can really make the difference.

What do you think of this series? Leave a comment below.

Revlon Kissable Lip Stain Balm: a review

Hello beauties,

Since those little bad boys came out in the Canada, I've been wearing them constantly. These are so smooth, and long lasting. Of course they are not as good as the lip stain from Revlon, but they last a good 5 to 6 hours on the lips. After that they begin to fade. They do fade faster if you eat. Nothing out of the ordinary, every lip stain fades when you eat so.

They also smell really good. The lip stain has a mint scent. It's not a strong scent at all. Once it's on your lips you don't smell it anymore. I really like that. I hate when you can smell it on your lips.

They really look like the Tarte LipSurgence or the Clinique Chubby Stick. I can't compare them because I don't own any, but from what I've read they are as good as them.

The collection contains 12 colors. They have a good variety of colors; some are dark, and the other light.

I really like the fact that they have a glossy finish that looks like a gloss. I find that with other stains they will leave your lips stained with a color, but looking extremely dry. Afterward, you need to apply some type of gloss or balm on top to prevent your lips from drying and looking dry. By doing that, it might fade the color of the stain depending on the brand. With this product, it's one step and you are done. The glossy finish will fade faster than the color, but it doesn't look dry or anything.

Another thing that I absolutely love about those it that you don't need to sharpen them. You twist them up and the lip stain comes up. It is perfect for on the go. You don't always have a sharpener to sharpen them. That is very convenient.

Overall, I think these bad boys are a must. Plus they aren't that expensive for what you get. You can definitely find a color that you like in the collection.

What colors do you own? Did you try the Tarte or the Clinique lip stain? Leave a comment below.

With love,
Sabrina
